![]() ![]() Modern age could add two more African factions and have a Congo war campaign.Īnd finally, the near future age could add whatever factions are widely requested and not in yet, and feature a fictional conflict between them.įactions would change names across epochs where appropriate. WW2 age could add Japan and whatever civ that's highly requested and had not made it in yet since all other major players are there already. WW1 age could add the Ottomans and Germany, with a WW1 campaign. Victorian age could add India and Bantu, with a campaign fighting against the British. Napoleonic age could add Sweden and Russia, and could have a campaign focused on their conflicts across the centuries. Renaissance age could add Spain and Aztecs, with an Americas campaign.Ĭolonial age could add USA and a native american civ, with a revolution campaign. Medieval age could add England and France, with a 100 years war campaign. And the new campaign could involve the Goths sacking Rome. Which could also have some raiding mechanics. Which would mean all existing factions now get acces to the new epoch too, and the new factions also get all previous epochs.įor example, the dark age could add the Goths and Norway. Each faction well crafted, only sharing units or architecture where it makes sense.Ĭould maybe be three campaigns as well, that could be done with the factions playable in the game.Īnd after this, each expansion could add an Epoch and two new factions that where prominent in that era as well as a new campaign. It would launch with the most prominent civs at that time.Įgypt, Greece, Rome, Persia, China and Carthage could all be playable, perhaps two more to be eight factions at launch. Same period as Age of Empires 1, but with each faction more unique. It could for example launch with Stone age, Tool age, Iron age and classic age. Doing many epochs and civs poorly.īut I feel like this is something that would work well with DLC expansions to keep expanding the game, in sensible ways of course. We have only seen some very poor attempts so far.Įnjoyable, sure. What I'd personally love to see, would be an RTS game that covers all of history + a bit of the future and does it well. What could be done with it? What has not been done yet and could be a great addition instead of an odd gimmick? While DE editions are great and I love to see them going, sometimes I'd also like to think of the future of the genre. ![]()
